Updated, happy new year

This year is the first time to celebrate the New Year alone in a foreign country, which is both novel and lonely.

The New Year’s Eve dinner in the evening was at Sheraton’s Chinese restaurant. When I called to make an appointment, I told the lady at the front desk that I was alone. When I said this, I laughed myself, and then the other side also laughed.

After I went, I regretted it instantly. Everyone who dined in the restaurant brought their families with them. The worst thing was a big brother with a girlfriend.

Then I sat alone in the reserved seat and ordered.

It felt like the whole world was watching me.

They looked at me blankly.
